Quickstart#

This chapter provides a general example of the hardware assembly procedure. Note that the actual setup may differ in appearance depending on the components used. However, the primary steps, rules, and cautions apply to every system.

Hardware Assembly#

All development kits (Devkits) come pre-assembled.

For FSM:GO Devkits, simply connect the FSM assembly to the FPA, then connect the FPA to the appropriate Processor Board.

FSM:GO Devkit Components

  • FSM:GO-IMXXXX 1

  • FPA-XXXXXX

  • FMA-FC-150/60-XXXX

  • M12 lens mount (optional)

X represents a placeholder value for the specific product code you may be using:

Note

Due to manual alignment requirements for back focal distance and position, C/CS-mounts are frequently shipped already attached to the FSM.

Caution

Ensure the cable is properly oriented by matching the ‘1’ marking the first pin on both connectors in both placement and number orientation before securing the connection. Doing otherwise may risk permanent damage to the components.

Connector Variants#

Depending on setup, an additional connector between the FSM:GO module and the FPA may be required. Refer to the table below for a list of available connectors and their use cases.

Connector Type

Use Case

Typical Distance

Compatible Devkits

PixelMate (60-pin)

Primary connection between FSM:GO modules and ecosystem adapters.

Up to 15 cm

Jetson AGX Xavier/Orin, Jetson Orin Nano/NX, Raspberry Pi, NXP i.MX 8M Plus EVK, Toradex Verdin

PixelMate Flex Cable

Direct connection between FSM:GO modules and processor adapters without signal conversion.

Up to 20 cm

Jetson AGX Xavier/Orin, Jetson Orin Nano/NX, Raspberry Pi, NXP i.MX 8M Plus EVK, Toradex Verdin

FFC (40-pin)

Uses FFA-FFC adapters to connect FSM:GO modules through standard flat-flex cables.

20 to 50 cm

Jetson AGX Xavier/Orin, Jetson Orin Nano/NX, Raspberry Pi, NXP i.MX 8M Plus EVK, Toradex Verdin

FFC22

Connects the processor adapter to the native camera connector using a 22-pin FFC cable.

Up to 15 cm

Jetson Orin Nano/NX

GMSL (FAKRA Coax)

Long-distance transmission of video, control signals, and power via serializer/deserializer adapters.

Up to 15 m

Supported on compatible FSM:GO platforms utilizing FFA-GMSL serializer/deserializer adapters
